09 Oct Self-Understanding
You are worth the time and care it takes to cultivate your well-being and personal power. This month in our Sol Path Yoga practice we’re focusing on SELF-UNDERSTANDING. In this context, “understanding” has two meanings. First, it means to be present and observant so that you can get to know your body, thought patterns, habits and true self better. This part of the practice develops self-knowledge and awareness, which give you the opportunity for conscious choices and positive transformation. The more you take responsibility for who you are and what you do, the more you can decide if you want to adjust or enhance your way of being. The second part of the practice is about being compassionate and non-judgmental during the process. You are a work in progress. You are awakening and learning in your own way…at your own pace. In every moment, you are in an unfolding relationship with yourself. Just like in any other relationship, you deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, love and UNDERSTANDING. SELF UNDERSTANDING PRACTICE:Throughout your day, practice observing what you’re thinking and feeling. That’s it. Just notice without judging yourself as good or bad. This is called witness consciousness. When you sit in the seat of the witness you have the power to consciously respond rather than habitually react. The key is to be compassionate with yourself! Let’s cultivate Self Understanding together with a very special Yoga practice 9:00am at Lotus in Bernardsville (www.lotusmindbodystudio.com) Even if you can’t be there in person, you can explore this practice on and off your mat!
